Meet Cathi — founder of Open Drawer.
Open Drawer was born from something that has always come naturally to me: looking at chaos and seeing a simpler, more functional way forward.
For me, organization has never been just about containers, labels, or perfectly styled spaces. It starts with people. I like to understand how someone lives, what they use, what they need, what is creating friction in their routine, and how their home can work better for them — not the other way around.
Before Open Drawer, I worked for many years in fashion in Brazil. That experience shaped my eye for aesthetics, proportion, presentation, and detail — but more importantly, it taught me how to observe people, understand different lifestyles, and recognize that no two clients live the same way.
When I began working inside people's homes in the U.S., I realized very quickly that the problem is rarely a lack of space.
That is where Open Drawer comes in. I especially love helping people through transitions — moving, settling into a new home, reorganizing after a major life change, or simply reaching that point where they look around and think: "I need to get my life back in order." That is exactly where I step in.
We do not believe in perfect homes or rigid organization. We believe in homes that function. A system is only successful if the client can realistically maintain it after we leave. That's why every project is highly personalized — we pay attention to routines, habits, priorities, limitations, and the small details that are easy to overlook, then build a system that feels intuitive, functional, and visually calm.
We do not want a client to open a drawer and only think, "this looks beautiful." We want them to think:
A beautiful shelf that doesn't work for your routine won't stay organized. Function comes first — the calm, tidy look follows naturally.
Homes are lived in. People accumulate things. Routines change. Life gets busy. We're not there to judge how things got overwhelming — we're there to help solve it.
We love solving problems, managing details, creating systems, and taking care of the things clients often don't have the time or energy to manage themselves.
"At its core, our work is simple: we step in when life feels complicated and help make it easier."
A quick consult is the easiest way to see if we're a good fit.
